Smithfield Live Fire Training : Andrew (My son) and I went to the live fire training today in Smithfield, RI on Douglas Pike. The Deputy allowed me to don my gear and grab a SCBA off of their rig for a better vantage point. Drew took care of the outside stuff while daddy played inside. His 35 photos have a "drew" in the image name under the pics. Thanks again brothers for the great hospitality. Once again you all showed how strong our brotherhood is!!

Working Fire Cumberland, RI 1 Pilgrim Terrace June 24, 2009 : Cumberland, RI - This fire at 1 Pilgrim Terrace was the third fire in a weeks time that the Jakes were called out to battle. This fire was in Station 5's district, which is in North Cumberland. Engine 54 and Truck 5 arrived to find heavy smoke and fire venting from the garage of this 1 story ranch occupied dwelling. An aggressive interior attack using two 1.75" hand lines through the breezeway door on side 1 knocked the bulk of the heavy fire down in 5 minutes. The fire was contained to the 2 bay garage which consumed a car and motorcycle. Engine 54 tagged their own hydrant in front of the dwelling. Truck 1's crew made the roof via their stick to vent the roof if deemed necessary by command. Engine 22 and 41's crew assisted with back up lines, overhaul, and relief to the first due Jakes. Rescue 2 set up EMS rehab on side 1 and provided water bottles until the Special Signal Canteen arrived on scene. Mutual aid from Lincoln and Woonsocket once again filled in the empty Cumberland fire houses. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by State and local agencies.

There are 20 images posted within this gallery that were taken by my son Andrew with my other 40d camera. The image will have "DREW" under the picture in the file name. Great job little buddy!!!!

Engine 41 arrived to find heavy smoke showing from Unit 406. The block of condos consisted of 8 units that are constructed of light weight truss framing.
